Whereas, the impact of the global Coronavirus pandemic, universally referred to as Covid 19, is impacting the Philadelphia-PA region in a disproportionate manner such that precious lives are being lost, sickened, leaving individuals, families, and the community deeply traumatized by the day;
Whereas, current Covid 19 data depict a widely disproportional impact on minority communities in general and Liberians in particular, there is urgent need for assistance to not only support our community, but also, open up an avenue by which individuals who do not have the wherewithal to navigate this dire and troubling time to have the assurance that at the very least they can count on the Gentlemen’s Club of Pennsylvania for some level of support;
Whereas, the Gentlemen’s Club of Pennsylvania seeks to foster the wellbeing of not only its members but also the community at large, The Gentlemen’s Club of Pennsylvania will on Saturday May 9, 2020 carry out a “Covid 19 Community Relief Initiative” to distributed bags and boxes of assorted dry goods such as rice, sugar, water, ginger, lime, eggs, Lipton tea, and toilet tissue to select churches, mosques, and organizations working directly with families and individuals affected by the Coronavirus.
The Gentlemen’s Club of Pennsylvania takes this opportunity to extend immense thanks and appreciation to all frontline personnel currently caught up in the crosshairs of the pandemic – Doctors, Nurses, CNS, DSPs, EMS, Police, Fire Fighters, Pastors, Imams, etc., for their sacrifice.
The Gentlemen’s Club of Pennsylvania also takes this time to extend deep and profound sympathy to all those who have lost loved ones at the merciless hands of the Coronavirus. Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone who is currently down with symptoms of the disease. May you come out better than before. The Gentlemen’s Club of Pennsylvania wishes you well.
Finally, the Gentlemen’s Club of Pennsylvania urges the general public and particularly Liberians to please be respectful to abide by all public policies and ordinances issued by Local and State officials. Social distancing is mandated. Keep at least six (6) feet away from others when in public spaces. Wearing a facial mask is strongly advised.
